Franck Boclet – Oud
Oud by Franck Boclet and perfumer Mélanie Leroux is a spicy-woody composition that preludes with spicy cloves, ginger and cumin that lend character to the fragrance. The heart is taken up by agarwood before cedarwood and patchouly take the stage and the composition gains its full dimension.
The Fragrances
Each of the Franck Boclet fragrances was created by Mélanie Leroux. Franck Boclet has been very active in the creation of his collection and he knew exactly what he wanted as a combination of fragrances. He wanted fragrances with a strong personality, which maintain and reflect his DNA.
The Story of a Fragrance Creation
“As in my creations, I wanted to create a fragrance collection: 4 scents according to my codes. A man needs according to his mood, his state of mind, to bring the fragrance in accordance with the time. There are always minimum four ways of dressing, 4 seasons, so there are 4 fragrances. I am attracted by strong Fragrances, because for me, they mark the moments of my life.
First, I chose Patchouly, because I’ve been a fan for years. Then the oud, because it is strong, tough and addictive. Incense is the third, thinner and discreet releasing character. Finally, the fourth is Leather, because I love working with leather through my line of leather and leather garments. It reminds me of the times when I’m working the material to give it shape. With Mélanie Leroux, the Nose, we worked each of 4 fragrances to reveal and subjugate my favorite scents. I wanted bottle and packaging to reflect the ancient codes and masculine side. The Organza covering the bottle gives it a feminine and elegant side. Thus, it reminds of the revealing silk stocking on the leg of a woman. The bottle is both round and massive.
The label is a silver embossed honeycomb pattern that takes the form of my work on metalwork. I’ve always been inspired by the beautiful lighters and money clips from a reputable and well-known brand. Here, the four fragrances are like the reflection of my desires, all my creations. Oud, Incense, Leather, and Patchouly.” Franck Boclet
