As faithful fans of Clive Christian know for sure, it’s not commonplace for Clive Christian to launch a new fragrance. He does not follow the endless stream of novelties, the “fashionable” and “modern” fragrances. He waits until he finds a fragrance that he falls in love with, a perfume that reflects part of his soul, that is really wonderful and, of course, was created from the most precious raw materials in their purest form.
Complementing “C” and “V” in his Private Collection, Clive chose the letter L from his name as the last piece of the luxurious fragrance trilogy. The Private Collection consists of perfumes that represent his personal favorites – “C” for Clive, “V” for Victoria. “L” stands for “Love” – because love is an invisible but also an important part of every relationship – and the inspiring feeling that connects all the fragrances in this collection. With “L”, Clive designed a unique fragrance that is both timelessly classic and yet fascinating with its modern touch.
“L” for Men is a spicy-woody perfume with a heart note of fir balsam and rose, combined with the warm and spicy notes of nutmeg and cardamom. The basis of the fragrance with its smoky, earthy vetiver facets was enhanced with musk for even more sensuality, and Atlas cedar wood, oud and spice accents bring all nuances of the base to life and give it a liveliness. Grapefruit as the top note underlines the natural citrus accent of the vetiver, while petitgrain and tangerine give the perfume a modern and very own nuance.
Clive Christian is one of the best interior designers England has to offer. Stephen Gray, the managing director was looking for a perfume manufacturer with long experience and tradition and found it in his own country: The Crown Perfumery. Combined with the talent and passion of Clive Christian and the most exquisite fragrances, they created the finest fragrances, the haute couture of the perfume.
Clive Christian launched his fragrances with the remark: “Perfumery is an art form – in the same genre as music and painting. Fragrance is the most personal, individual communication to the environment and should beautify rather than define a person. “
